HISTORY

The International Medical School was born in 2010 as a new English-language medical degree based on innovative teaching and learning methods and open to both EU and non-EU students. Initially located at the Humanitas hospital in Rozzano (MI), the course attracted the interest of several Italian and foreign students. During the years, the total number of students and their geographical origin have changed as follows:

  • 2010-2011
    32 students of which 27 EU (26 ITA, 1 FRA) and 5 non-EU (4 ISR, 1 PER)
  • 2011-2012
    47 students of which 30 EU (16 ITA, 9 GBR, 2SWE, 1 DEU, 1 FRA) and 17 non-EU (11 ISR, 3 TWN, 1 SAU, 1 VNM, 1 KOR)
  • 2012-2013
    58 students of which 47 EU (34 ITA, 9 GBR, 2 ROU, 1 IRL, 1 POL) and 11 non-EU (5 TWN, 2 ISR, 1 CHE, 1 TUR, 1 BIH, 1 CMR)
  • 2013-2014
    57 students of which 38 EU (27 ITA, 4 GBR, 1 IRL, 2 PRT, 2 POL, 1 CYP, 1 ROU) and 19 non-EU (4 ISR, 4 TWN, 3 IND, 2 TUR, 1 SYR, 1 AFR, 1 SRB, 1 CAN, 1 THA, 1 CHN)
  • 2014-2015
    48 students of which 37 EU (29 ITA, 3 GBR, 1 IRL, 1 PRT, 1 FRA, 1 POL, 1 GRC) and 11 non-EU (4 TWN, 2 ISR, 1 BLR, 1 TUR, 1 EGY, 1 IND, 1 CAN)
  • 2015-2016
    50 students of which 31 EU (22 ITA, 4 GBR, 2 CYP, 1 BGR, 1 FRA, 1 DEU) and 19 non-EU (3 USA, 3 TWN, 2 CAN, 2 IND, 2 TUR, 1 IRN, 1 ISR, 1 MKD, 1 NPL, 1 PAK, 1 THA, 1 VNM)
  • 2016-2017
    50 students of which 33 EU (20 ITA, 4 CYP, 3 POL,  2 GBR, 2 GRE, 1 CHE, 1 ROU) and 17 non-EU (4 ISR, 4 USA, 2 CAN, 2 EGY, 1 IND, 1 ALB, 1 LBN, 1 TWN, 1 TUR)

Starting from 2014/2015 the course has been relocated to the new campus. The precious feedback from students and professors allowed for a few changes and adjustments in terms of contents and organisation of the course.
